The Mid-Atlantic Simulation of the United Nations (MASUN) is the pride and joy of George Mason Model UN. Every spring, we host hundreds of high school students to discuss the pressing international policy issues of the day. Students become fully engaged representing various countries and individuals, immersing themselves in the international policy arena.

Mission Statement: The Mid-Atlantic SImulation of the United Nations seeks to engage the brightest and most talented students in debate of the most critical international issues of our time. At the conference, students will practice their skills of conflict analysis and resolution, negotiation, and public speaking and debate as well as broaden their global perspective in situations that simulate the United Nations as well as other international bodies.

The Mid-Atlantic Simulation of the United Nations 2012 is the next George Mason Model UN-sponsored conference for high school students. Here at MASUN, we are proud to have a strong tradition of excellent committees which push the limits of student achievement at Model United Nations. The Secretariat and I have been working diligently to ensure that students of all levels, from the MUN beginner to the seasoned veteran, will be challenged by their committee experience at MASUN 2012.
MASUN ’12 is scheduled for the weekend of February 24-25, 2012 (schedule). Announced committees include the UN Office of Outer Space Affairs, the International Criminal Court, the Chinese Communist Party during the Cultural Revolution, and more! Registration is now open, and country/committee assignments are first-come, first-serve so register quickly!
